Arizona Progressive Council Blog

Arizona Progressive Council (AzPC) is a collective / coalition of progressives and progressive organizations throughout the State of Arizona, not necessarily affiliated with any particular political party. Membership requirement is to be progressive and liberally minded, and willing to be active within the Arizona political arena by supporting and pursuing progressive candidates, supporting the initiatives and work of AzDPC, training and education of progressive programs, and progressive coalition building. We maintain a database that helps organize down to the Legislative District level.

This would require the Secretary of State to place machine source code in escrow with an independent agent, overseen by a 3 person committee to investigate and test vote recording and tabulations machines. ------------------------

Power crews diverted

Storm - Hattiesburg American - www.hattiesburgamerican.com: "Shortly after Hurricane Katrina roared through South Mississippi knocking out electricity and communication systems, the White House ordered power restored to a pipeline that sends fuel to the Northeast.

That order - to restart two power substations in Collins that serve Colonial Pipeline Co. - delayed efforts by at least 24 hours to restore power to two rural hospitals and a number of water systems in the Pine Belt.

At the time, gasoline was in short supply across the country because of Katrina. Prices increased dramatically and lines formed at pumps across the South.

Dan Jordan, manager of Southern Pines Electric Power Association, said Vice President Dick Cheney's office called and left voice mails twice shortly after the storm struck, saying the Collins substations needed power restored immediately."
